:cry:So today I was at work just getting done working on a project from a Joe Biden rally only to get beat up on a project someone else messed up and leave for me to catch the blame. I get a phone call from m roommate asking why my fish is on the floor. My oscar knocked the lid open and jumped out of the tank on to the floor. Not only did she hit the floor she landed on the surge protector. But she hit the switch and turned it off. I know that sounds wild but it is the only explaintion we can come up with. So we got her back into the tank andshe is covered up and weighted down.I added salt and a dose of melfix. Not only did this happen but I forgot my ID and got denied beer at Fridays but not to soon after we got back from that we noticed my pleco in my 55gallon was acting weird. At first I thought my JDs were messing with the fish but when I went to the tank it flipped out and laid flat on his back. I grabed him by his tail and put him in a clean bucket. He did not move other then a singal twich. I have air and meds going for him but I do believe he is gone. I am in no condition to mess with my fish. I have roles about that. Any input would be great I am still in shock. Thanx guys.:cry::WHOA:

oh wow, sorry about that.. The beer thing musta been a big let down. lol..

Anyways, my oscar jumped out of my 150g tank, musta been on the floor for atleast 30mins+ before I got to him.. Put him back in the tank, withing 4 days he was swimming again.. His body looked real bad from getting dry, but he made it.. Try checking water parameters and heat. let us know.

Thanx malawi. This is the first time she has done this before and she could have fried herself to death. I need to write down what I have done to my tanks in the past couple of days. I will keep you updated.

Sounds good, hope she makes it. Any pics?

She has been moving around and she knows I am mad @ her. No pics tonight she is covered up for the night. She does seemed spaced out thoough.

Give her a few days. She should make it. ;)

Sorry...

:nilly:I did some test on the water and found that my Nitrate spiked @80ppm. I am thinking this was caused by the filter I swapped out. Other test results are;
Nitrite-0ppm
Ammonia-0ppm
pH-7ppm
So my attack plan is as fallows. I have a stand by 20 gallon tank that I am going to start to cycle. Doing this so I can keep a constint supply of water I can cycle for fresh water changes daily untill my water perimeters are where they need to be. I have a enough water cycled from last night to do a 10% water change and with the water I remove I will clean up the filter and get it back in service. I hate relying on one filter for my oscar tank. Two makes it easier on all of us.

A day like that and no Beer! :nilly:

sheesh when i rains it pours
