About, maybe 6 monthes ago, my 5" red devil almost killed my 2" blood parrot. i had to move the parrot to my community 55. it started out with him being half, dead, and shy, never coming out of the tight cave. he slowly didn't fell threatened by the angelfish, silver dollars, and little tetras, and was out and about, getting along with all the fish. well, about a month ago, he went from comfortable and calm, to crazy cichlid, and dug holes, and nipped at the other fish. because the tank was my moms, and the angelfish, were her prized favorates.
To prevent death of the other fish, i moved the now 3.5" parrot to a ten gallon, with 2 55G box filters, for growout, and beefing up.
the 10Gallon growout tank just happened to be next to the 55 with the rd that almost killed him, and after over 6 long monthes, THEY REMEMBER EACHOTHER and HE WANTS REVENGE!!!! and she just wants to tear him up again. they just flare gills at eachother and try to get at eachothers throats, despite the 2 sheets of gass, and 2" of space between them. My plan is to beef up he parrot, to the point where i think he can go against the rd without getting killed, and without killing her.
i just find there memory, and bilt up rivalry, to be amazing. they pic up right were they left off, even before the parrot hit the water!
