The fish in the picture can't be the one that is described in the article. I wouldn't think the fish in the pic would go more than 8 lbs.
 
the fish in the picture looks like a 5 pounder.
 
ill give it 8-9 pounds, my 23 incher was smaller then that and it went 7 pounds, this fish pictured is longer then mine and has a bigger girth
 
I have a 22''smallie on the wall and if I held it, would look way bigger than that one. Not the fish that they are describing, just can't be.
 
:eek::eek::eek: are you kidding me? that has to be one of the biggest smbs ever caught! that guys ignorant, but i bet the smb tasted great :D but all kidding aside, that felt like a blow to the stomach when i read it. he should have brought it to his local bass pro shops, given it to them for their aquarium and have gotten a full scale plastic replica in return for it...people these days
 
yea that would be sweet, a world record smb in your local bps. or scientists should make their own tank, like bps, and record the life of smb w/ out going into their enviornment and scarring them.
