So my tires arnt the best in the rain. let alone after it rains and its drying up.

so im driving up home after getting professional pictures taken of my jeep and I. It had been raining all day on and off and when i was heading home, i was going around a turn going about 15-20 mph and i felt my tires slipping so i tapped on the brakes and i started sliding at an angle.

I slid off the road and into a ditch that was maybe 1-2 feet deep. the opposing side of the ditch was a hill so i was stopped immediately. I hit with the right corner of my jeep, right where the front wheel is. Unfortinatly this was the one time i was not wearing my seatbelt...i know shame on me, and I slid forward after bracing myself for impact, i slammed up against the rearview mirror and the windshield. I hit my head against both but didnt break anything inside and the windshield was still in the same condition.

I the called my friend (the photographer) and he came and helped me get my jeep out of the ditch. It is not driveable, but we mannaged to move it about 20 feet to a driveway where we sat and assessed the damage.

From what i can see, i bent the hell out of my bumper, broke the right sway bar connector, bent/broke the right shock, and the worst of all! I broke the arm thing that attaches to the frame and then to the axel.

That arm thing went from being straight to a Z shape.....

from what i described (also pics below of damage), what do yall think this could cost me to fix? with just stock parts, no upgrades.

bummer man, you were so excited about getting it too

good luck on getting her up and running again

That really sucks man, but what's broken isn't that hard to fix. You can find a lot of used parts at junk yards or buy replacements online.

Hey if it makes you feel any better I just seriously hit a deer with my jeep about 20 minutes ago.

yea, those tires arent the best, they should be the wrangler gsa 30-9.50r15s... if so then ur jeeps still stock and its an easy driveway fix thatll be maybe an hour?! new coil, new shock, maybe shock bump mount for the coil too, and then they one piece that connects to the axle wich im havin a brain fart on completly.. all are basic tool kit capable. and easy to do.. to bad ur not closer, id def be up for a beer and grease haha.. but yea the bumper is easy, tow strap and a good strong tree, unless u want it without character, if thats the case id junkyard shop, and feel free to grab the others as well. ud maybe be lookin at around 250$ish here where im from if u pulled it urself.

yea at first i was thinking "ill go with a repair shop" but then they said i need a new axel and new this and that! and then they wanted $2500!! :nilly: so i went and joined this site called www.jeepinWV.com and its all local jeepers and there is a guy that lives 2 miles from where my acident was haha

so anyways he ironicaly works for a car fab shop and said "Here, you get it towed to my house and me and you can work on it for the cost of 2 cases of beer" hahaha so i think thats what ill be doing. he said everything is bolt on able and itll all work out and NOT cost me $2500. he said something around the terms of "those damn guys always say way to many zero's!!!!!" haha

and for the bummper i think im going to cut off the sides and make it a stubby bumper :D

and thanks for all the concern guys! im glad i have people to talk about it with. yall are the best. and im doing good btw, no pain whatso ever :)

Unfortinatly this was the one time i was not wearing my seatbelt

Man that really sucks, sorry to hear. But after reading this, I went WTF!!!!! How does anybody drive a car these days w/o wearing a seat belt? Hope you learned your lesson! Seat belt saved my life years ago in a rollover. I will never go w/o a seat belt. I even get teased by friends when I freak out about putting on a seat belt when sitting in the back seat.

glad to see you found another local jeeper, the 4x4 community is a tight one much similar to us mfk's and will always be there to help another in need.. just make sure to repay the favor down the line, thats how these things work out so well. o and as far as the bumper idea, i like it alot.. the custome things we do to our vehicles are what give give it that character we love to see so much! good luck.
