I transferred some Convict eggs from their breeding tank to a hatching tank, and most of them seem ok - wriggling now for about 4 days. Is this normal? I thought they should be free swimming by now.
are they still wigglers or are they more developed?
my fry that i had stayed with the parents,so i dont know if that has anything to do with it. is your food small enough for them to eat?

Separating them was a bit of an experiment to see how the eggs got on without their parent fish. Comparing the development rate it seems that they come on faster when still with the parents. No idea why.
Wasn't feeding them when they were wrigglers as they were still absorbing their yolk sacs, but there was baby brine shrimp going into the tank to feed fry that were slightly older. Once they were swimming I fed powdered flake and bbs.
Will bigger Con fry hunt down smaller ones? I found a few dead fry in the tank and a lot of the newly free swimming ones seem to have disappeared. Strange.
