Grammar Nazi's please feel free to correct my mistakes 
I am only 16 and want to do something this summer so would appreciate of you guys help me. This is obviously not the full thing but I am going to post it bit by bit then the whole thing at the end and if it ever gets published the guys who helped me will be mentioned and will get a free copy....and a t-shirt saying I <3 Al (jokes)
Here is the first bit:

I have never been the type of person who people thought would write a book. However, after meeting this young boy I felt inspired and decided to write a book to help children like him all over the world.*
It was the *new year's eve of 2003 in Iraq and like everywhere else people celebrated the start of the new year, the new beginning. Khatoob was like any other 'average' baby in Iraq, he was, loud, playful and always full of joy. Until the one day where everything changed for him.
"Oh please, please come with us" Khatoob's mother, Dina, asked his uncle.
"No. Enjoy yourselves, I will take care of your son and anyway, I have no one to go with." His uncle, Ali, replied with joy.
"Thank you." Dina replied as she reached over to hug her younger brother, Ali.
And so Dina and her husband, Umar, set off to the restaurant. Hours went past, phone calls were not answered. The next day Khatoob's grandparents looked at the headlines on the news. Darkness. * * * * * * * *There they were. Dead. A suicide bomber had ran into the restaurant Dina and Umar had been celebrating the start of the new year, the new beginning, and blown himself up killing everyone in the restaurant including Khatoob's patents. A river of tears was shed. A shadow of sorrow drew darkness over the lives of all of Khatoob's family. The poor boy. He was not acting abnormally but he did not know what was happening.*
To this day I still think how much a life can change due to the actions of one pathetic, idiotic, selfish man. The result of all this? A man who did not accomplish a thing, who is rotting in 'hell', and an orphaned young, innocent child. I know for a fact that he did not go the 'heaven' as this is not the teaching of Islam, which is meant to be a religion of peace, a religion of sanity and a religion of great teachings.*
