socal
hey, im wayne came here looking to get back into the hobby i bred some convicts a while back and went crazy about cichlids, haha that died down for about a year but i really want a silver arowana right now so ive been scouring the forums and tryiing to get that started

To begin with, you are going to need a well-established and giant tank. You could either start up a 250g tank with species that you don't care about to later introduce the aro for life, or atart a 55g and be ready to upgrade tanks and switch filters to minimize cycling. also, take it off of live foods as quickly as you can, and make sure the foods float, or there is something (ping pong ball, whatever) for the aro to play with at the surface, or it will inevitably develop drop-eye.

thanks for the tips, i think im gonna start with a 60g any ideas where i can get baby aros in socal?
