Hi Guys,

Does anyone know where / how much / any info at all on these fish in Aus? saw a very old post like 2010 of someone offering one in Brisbane. Obvi looking something more recent.

Many Thanks,

B

id love one aswell but... as we all know australia sux for these kind of things

Yeah expect $$$$$$$ would be required, and that would be ok, if I could find the bloody thing. Would anyone be able to suggest something as rare/exotic/big/hard to house/hungry and fun to watch?

I think I saw some FS alligator gar. They are pretty decent.

If you're looking for something hungry... Redtail Catfish. They're living vacuums. :nilly:

Why not go an aussie native that can be a monster if you do the right thing..cheap as chips too...so also much more money saved on the fish to spend on a good sized tank that they deserve...most notably a murray cod...can get up around the 6ft mark and over 100kgs and live for over 70 yrs..if people got to see BIG murray cod more often...they would know there is a monster fish right here in our own aussie back yard...you can feed chickens to big ones..is that big enough for you ...with a mouth that could fit a human in it...

Thanks Man, Murray Cod is a good alternative, and I like thats its a native,

In lieu of the monster amazon pond-arium, I might have to go with a natives pond-arium.

Prob have about 6 Saratoga (maybe arowana instead) a few perch and a few cod.

I actually thught I had a line on an arapaima the other day, I got an sms saying, "is this the fish you are looking for" with a piccy of an arapaima, I said yes please!!!!!!!!!

Turns out it was my sisters Boyfriend, they had just seen the fish on RiverMonsters or somesuch, and were not msging to offer me the fish, more to ask if I was crazy.
