Im looking for some small blue gill or other sunfish.Im in san diego ca so if anyone local has some or knows any leads great. If not local let me know how much shipping would be here.

There are alot out here especially in san diego, but I dont want to go fishing for them no time to spend all day fishing if someone already has some that are breeding or whatever that would be great!

NO TIME FOR FISHING?!!!!! WHATS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD!!!!

You should invest 20 bucks and purchase a cast net. For the beginner I would recommend the 3ft radius but if you already know what your doing the 4ft radius is better and usually has a longer cast rope as well. Its the guaranteed easiest way to catch small sunfish and lots of other cool fish. Case and point: fish I've landed in the cast net. Orange Spotted Sunfish, Green Perch, Bluegill, etc... ~Trent

First let me say those are really beautiful fish you have in those pics!:headbang2
Second I have no idea on how to catch them with anything but a fishnet and getting waist deep in these lil creaks we have.I would like to try but I dont know of any really good spots except the canyons by my house and if the park rangers come -UH OH!

Cast nets are legal I'm pretty sure everywhere, the only stipulation is you aren't supposed to keep game fish with it like largemouth bass, etc. Its really easy I could try to describe how to do it but I would butcher the method I'm sure. On the packaging there is one method the other is to just hold your hands at the top about 3 ft apart and then throw from right to left trying to get it to spread out. Thanks for the comments on the pics and good luck ~Trent

I just saw about 6 of them at Fountains in La Mesa tonight, they are in their Koi pond. They should just let you have them since they cannot be sold.

As long as they aren't legal game fish like bass, crappie, stripers, they should be able to sell them. sunfish, carp, gar and such are legal fish for sale because they don't qualify as game fish. ~Trent
