My buddy is trying to find a small bonnet head for his 1K+ gal tank. He is also looking for a white tip for his larger tank at home.

Is that 18' diameter and 5' deep or an 18x5 rectangle? If the first one, white tips would be great, a little tight for bonnets.
If the second, it will be too small for bonnets and it will be tight after about a year for a white tip.

Ok, He is bored with his smooth hounds, any recommendations ? He only wants sharks. 64° Salinity 1.026, He has a 1k tank about 10 12ft long as seen in the pic and another 18ft rectangle

The temp is 64 degrees? Not a shark expert but think the ones listed prefer tropical temps.

Is he interested in rays? Maybe a some rays and other fish would be good as for the active types of sharks maybe very limited.

Unless he goes for benthic:

-Marble/Bamboo Cat Sharks
-Epaulette Shark
-Chain Cat sharks in that temp may work however they are hard to come by as well as smaller than what was listed

I could picture a tank with rays and pilot fish lol

64 degrees is way to cold to keep bonnetheads or white tip reef sharks in.
At that temp and size you need to look at cold water sharks like some of the catsharks off of South Africa (PuffAdders, Pygama cats, horn sharks etc...). That is not a good tank or ORV tropical sharks at all.
