Not to derail, but what kind of quality are you expecting for a $50 adult discus?

Thanks for derailing the thread. You essentially just killed it with your negativity. You could have just pm'ed me your opinion like I stated in the ad but you wanted to start something by commenting like a troll.
Discus are not as expensive as one thinks. Have you been to HK and other parts of Asia. Well I have, and they have fully grown quality discus selling for the equivalent of $10, already presaged hanging on with shelves waiting to be bought like a daily newspaper. Think about it. Why should discus be so expensive when they breed readily, produce fry in large quantities, and theres thousands of discus breeders, and there are NOT illegal to be imported into the country.
Its the American market that throws this expensive price tag, and creates this illusion that Discus are this luxury fish, that we should be paying hundreds of dollars for, when in truth they are not; they are a cichlid like any other cichlid.
But respect for Monster Aquarium for selling quality Discus at a reasonable price in the US market which i believe is in that 50-60 dollar region. They know what a realistic price in the US market is to pay for discus is. You do know that every aquarium fish you buy at the retail price in a pet store is 3 times or even more than what they pet store paid for it, so forgive me if I do not want pay 3 times what a fish is really worth.
At the end of the day, these are just fish. Fish. people! Problem is most of you spend more money and time on these fish than your wife and kids, because you are obsessed with them. its a hobby for me, not an obsession.
Lastly I stated what I was willing to pay, and I stated that I dont want any BS stock. Nothing wrong with that. i named my price, so if you are selling discus, and dont like my price, then you can just move on. Calll me a cheapskate or you can call me realistic. Because I have am seeing all these hundred dollar plus discus being bumped to the heavens on this forum because they cant sell them at these unrealistic prices, essentially the same price
as retail store.
in conclusion, anyone selling discus for a reasonable price , hit me up, and Shookones, stop being an MFK troll.
