I posted this in the other section not knowing there is a saltwater section here, anyways I want to buy either a black edge or something simular in size and price. Have a couple of options but if you have something you need to sell give me a call. deanjanhauser@netzero.com Must be in the Chicagoland area or south as I live a little west of Joliet. The other eel I am interested in is a Jeweled Moray. Thanks

Black edged eels are aggressive. What do you have for a setup?

Ive been reading that they are semi- aggressive-maybe they only eat half of the fish. I have a 150 6' long with a blue jaw 5", pink tail 6", huma huma 4", niger trigger 4 1/2", 8" blue angel, 7" panther grouper, 6" surge wrasse, 8" lunare wrasse

I forgot to mention that I know someone that had a black edge with fish it could have ate, but he didnt have any problems other than a Hippo tang bullied it around when I was over one night, kind of weird I thought, just depends on the individual maybe.

Could depend on the individual eel. You've got quite a bioload already in that tank though.

ordered one tonight from Toms Caribbean in Florida- 24.00 plus shipping 46.00 be here friday. I know the tank is small for what I have, going to get a 96x30x30 or 120x30x30 this summer, not sure which one yet. The 375 is 1850.00 and the 470 is 2400.00 from a guy in Chicago. ( good prices)

Good that you are going to upgrade. I ordered from Tom a few years ago. Great guy and I was very happy with the order.

would you put the eel in the main tank or put him in quarintene for a while, I have heard eels are not much threat with desease other that parisites

It's always a good idea to put any new fish in a qt tank.

got the eel this morning now getting acclimated, really surprized how cool he looks, its a 16-18 incher. I have two damsels in my 45 gallon quar. tank and wonder how long they will last. I threw a piece of shrimp in the bucket and it ate it so I guess thats a good sign
