I'm looking for a pair of EBJDs. Does anyone know where I can find them? I've checked my LFS and they don't seem to ever have them in stock. :irked:

I plan on putting them in my 150 but I have a 55 to raise them in if they are small.

Thanks!!

I would recommned to get a bunch because they might die out like one of my 3 ebjds did

Just so you know even if you do get a pair they will not be able to mate and produce fry.. they may have babies, but im sure that 99% will die unles you go thru the various breeding steps which produces these magnificent fish. I had a 5" male (avatar) and i was ready to try and get him to breed...

First thing you need to do is get adult sexually mature male Electric blue, then have him mate with a regular Jack Dempsey(female obviously).. the fry will need to be growed out until one of the daughter fry is grown until she is sexually mature. The original Blue dempsey needs to mate with his daughter and BAM thats when u get 50% EBJD and 50% JD i'm pretty sure...

All i kno is my EBJD that i had for almost 3 years died about a month after i ontroduced the JD female... Its very hard to do in my opinion... but thats why they command such a high price, And they grow slow. Good luck:headbang2

And if you order them offline, try and get 10 or more...some WILL die.

They will just die... im not sure how but they just do..
I think they are missing something from what ive heard. like a gene or something

Because inbreeding fish you lower their immune system hence they are easier to get parasites/disease.
