I am looking for a used pump or powerhead that can push out at least 1000gph on a 6' head height. I will be using it for my sump which has an overflow with a diameter of 1.25" which according to the calculator I believe sucks in 910gph.

Any brand is good as long as its in good to excellent working condition although I am leaning towards the Quiet One brand because as the name implies, it will be the quiet one. Aquarium is in my bedroom so sound is absolutely a factor.

If anyone is curious, sump is a 30G tank and main tank is 100 gallons.

whats your budget?

I'm thinking around $50-70 especially if its a quiet one.

I have a Via Aqua, rate 3700 Liter per hour, so like 970 gph for $30.00. I have a Quiet One 4000HH rate 980 gph for $45.00. BTW, what happens with the 26HF you bought few months ago? That's one strong pump also

Of course John has one for me...:)

I still have the 26HF. I mainly use it for water changes though. It's a little bit loud for comfort. The sump will sit next to my bed so ess noise the better.

Which pump would you recommend John? My overflow can suck in 910 gph. I'm leaning towards the Quiet One though. Whichever will work for me.

Although it's a bit pricey, Quiet One is better, in flow rate, and less noise. It's the High Head (HH) model so there is less flow rate loss. I didn't know you were looking for a pump. It was sitting right there under your nose, in the empty sump that will be soon for sale :D You need to book another flight with your travel agent.. Might as well do it before your passport is expired

I have a little giant pump for sale if you are interested. The model is 4-MDQX-SC. At 6 ft it is rated at 1080 gph. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks lllllllll, but I think that "little" monster won't fit in my sump. I appreciate the offer though.

Dangit... I am on my way home tonight... I got a fixed date ticket... I'll just come back some other months when I get something from you again or from Rich.:D

I guess we have to do the shipping route with this one John. Is $50 enough to cover the pump and shipping? I can paypal you the amount this morning. Let me know. Thanks buddy!

Get the quiet 1 pump. Nowadays with soaring gas prices your best bet is to get shipped instead of local pickup. I just shipped out HKN's purse:ROFL: last week UPS ground he got it the next day cost about the price of 1 gallon of gas..
