I don't think you are going to have much luck getting a festae or red texas to mate with an EBJD. For starters they look nothing alike, and while that won't always stop cichlids, EBJD's are a crapshoot when it comes to being genetically capable of producing offspring, as are red texas/flowerhorns. Also, festae and hybrid cichlids are generally much more aggressive and bold than EBJD's are, and would be more likely to kill them than anything in my opinion. I think you would be better off mating the EBJD with blue gene JDs for more EBJDs, then doing a separate breeding project of festae or RTs.
