Been researching, I know about retics. Not looking for a lesson in fishkeeping or raykeeping just looking for someone who has a retic for sale. I wouldnt mind getting a motoro but I do not know if I will be able to give him a proper home by the time he needs one

Call Wet Spot Tropical Fish in Portland Oregon if you don't mind paying for shipping. They sell for $50. They had a couple of males in stock on Friday.

I have bought 3 recently and they are all doing well. One thing that I have found is that you should usually treat them with Prazi Pro because they are wild caught. It should be done as soon as you get them too. In addition, you might be able to buy captive bred from a member named nicole who goes by the name of Grapedinox. I have 4 of hers and 3 wild caught. Her captive bred are the healthiest rays ever. They eat well and grow like crazy. You can always PM me with questions.

Thanks for the help guys, I talked to Wet Spot yesterday and all of their retic stock did not make it in their shop, they said this is a common problem they have with their retics. After hearing this on the phone in person, I know I've read about the more fragile nature of retics on here but hearing it on the phone sinks it the rest of the way home, I spoke with my wife about building the tank we previously talked about and I am happy to say that I am clear for take off! Wont be able to start the build until sometime after the holidays. The tank will have a 6-10 ft by 3 ft footprint at 3-4 ft high (Not sure how big or crazy I want to go yet but it will be at least 6x3x3 most likely 8x3x3 but who knows. Not sure if I will go with a sump system using an old tank or go with several fx5s or something else. That is one thing I will have to still work out. Building the stand will be easy, the tank will not be to bad either, although it will most likely only have 1 viewable side if you do not include from the top.

Either way because of that I went ahead and purchased a beautiful male motoro from wet spot that will live in a 125 for 4-6 months until this new monster tank is complete and setup. The Motoro will most likely remain by himself for the duration of his time in the 125

Good to hear. I have my 4 motoros in a 6x3x2 and they are thriving. One thing I have learned is to keep at least 2 females to each male maybe even 3 to one. The males can be very agressive when they try to breed at a 1 to 1 ratio. I have 2 pairs of motoros and I have to pull a male out every so often. I have good luck using oversize weet/dry filters for my rays. Don't give up on retics. One thing WWet Spot doesn't do is treat the newbies. I have to say it is worth the extra $ to buy from Grapedinox. Shipping is about $80 and she has the healthiest babies you could ever want. I love my retics as much as my Motoros. Best of luck to you!

Its good to know that I can safely house upwards of 4 motoros in that size of tank. I definitely want to do that. I ended up paying 64 shipping so 80 is not a stretch. I will definitely have to buy from her then next time around.
