Preferably less than 8" across. This is my first venture into keeping rays, and would like to get a introduction before I spend 1k+. Im located in Richmond Va 23237.

I think one of the vendors (N-E Cichilids maybe?) had retics going for about $30. He also had motoros agoing for under $100 ea, so that's an option as well.

You dont have to worry about getting a retic over 8"

If you have the tank already, I would try a hardier ray....

Teacups are a bad starter ray. They are more picky and sensitive than most rays actually, figures they are most affordable though. You can get a motoro pup for as low as 75$....
Good luck!

WE HAVE TEA CUPS FOR 50 BUCKS. I WOULD SUGGEST GETTING A MOTORO OR A ORBY INSTEAD. RETICS ARE VERY HARD TO GETY GOING ON FOODS. THAT BEING SAID I HAVE ABOUT 20 LEFT THAT BEEN WITH ME ABOUT 3 WEEKS. EATING BLACKWORMS,AND GHOST SHRIMP. CHUNCKY LITTLE GUYS. BUT AGAIN THEY ARE PICKY. YOU WILL SPEND MORE MONEHY ON FOOD (LIVE) IN THE FIRST MONTH THAN U WOULD JUST GETTING A MOTORO. WE HAVE BABY MOTOROS FOR 150.00. AIRPORT TO AIRPORT SHIPPING IS ABOUT 80 BUCKS. I CAN FIT ABOUT 4 IN A BOX. SAVES ON SHIPPIMNG

As previously stated I have a few left. All are eatring Blackworms and Ghost shrimp. Not sure on the whole picky situation. I have had motoros take longer to eat than my teacups. Never had a teacup go more than a few days before eating. I have had motoros hold out for a month.

I have found that if you have a picky ray, put them in a small area where they can not move around to much and put food in there. With in 24 hours they will most likely eat. didn't believe it when I was told to do it, but after one of my motoros did not eat for a few weeks, I tried it and i'll be damned if it didn't eat the next day. Not sure if what causes that, but it worked for me.
