ok, here's the deal. I got 4 neons 2 days ago, and all seemed fine for a day. now, sudden ly 2 of my neons think they are cichlids and chase my other 2 neons on sight, as well as each other if one goes past the java fern, which is the territorial boundary I guess. all is peaceful at mealtime, and the 2 bullied neons come out and eat their fill. no one looks sick.

so WTF is up with the 2 aggressive ones? do I not have enough neons or something? should In return the bullies or the bullied?

I asked this at AC, and they seem about as clueless as I am.

Try getting more..I duuno why their like that...but more will help diffuse agression.:D

Nothing wrong with that, mate. All fish can behave differently. Your neons are establishing pecking order among themselves.:)

They still establish pecking order among their group. Still, it's a good idea to keep a shoal of 6 or more.:)

I know they make a pecking order, but every time one of the 2 subserviant neons comes into sight, the chase it away. my rasboras have a pecking order, I know what that is like, and this ain't no pecking order issue.

I know...

I resolved it by moving them into my 5G and moving my betta back to my 10G.

Weren't you a little hard on the poor neons? Lol...I feel you are like a father giving the neons a punishment.:D

well, they seemed to have calmed down now...
