Ok so lately I have had some minor issues with my tank nothing serious... For instance one of the wild ocells I bought got ick from stress and I took care of that. Now today I clean my tank and my pbass are shedding there slime coat and I haven't changed a thing as far as upkeep goes? Any ideas?
Thanks
Glenn

just add salt with the water change...it'll bring the slime back.

just bump the temp to 82 to 86 degrees and salt....that's how "I" care for ich....and a extra air stone to add oxygen to the tank.

Product called Stress Coat is very good at replacing slime as well. Its a miracle worker

:iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree: Take everthing that everyone said and it should do the trick!!! Prime+Slimecoat+Salt+Up Temp+Airstone=Bye bye ich!!!(Worked for me anyway)!!!GL

Ok just got back from pet store ph 7.0 nitrates are fine.... Now I'm really baffeled I'm just added salt and turned up the heat and will wait and see

Good...try not to use meds.

generally fish slough off slime coat when they have too much, it's a natural and normal process, like dogs shedding. adding salt will make their slimecoat thicker, thus the need to slough some off.

relax, stop throwing chemicals at problems you don't have.
