so, i was changing my water and i was watching to see how my cherry shrimp were adjusting to it. i threw an algae wafer in there, and of course, the smallest one got there first, and what happened. he got swarmed by my other cherries. i was really worried about him, and rite when i was about to go in and see if i could get him off, they slowly started leaving him. at first glance, he looked ok, and second glance, HE WAS FREAKING HEADLESS. my cherries are freaking cannibals!!!!!! is this normal behavior in cherry shrimp, or should i seriously be worried?

Yup..........Yup unless your OK only having one or two in your tank. They are particularly vulnerable after molting.

ok, i wasnt sure if it was this guy who molted or not, but i did see a shell lying near my moss when i was cleaning. the biggest one female, also the biggest, has a very shiny coat rite now, and the molt was really big, so i think it was actually her who molted. this one mite have molted and my siphon mite have sucked in the molt without me noticing, but thnx

thats crazyy

I have about 100 cherry shrimp in a 20 gal. I sometimes find a dead one, but it's pretty rare. I have tiny babies hatch in this tank full of adults and they live with no problems. I've never seen mine cannibalize each other.
