Anybody have any idea why my smaller (8in) O is attacking my hand anytime i put it in the tank to move a decoration? Ive notice the two O's havent been as calm around each. The locked lips the other day which is unusual. And they keep trying to move this flat rock with their mouths (way too big). Then like almost twitching or shivering over it. Any reason for the peculiar behavior? I was almost thinking possibly breeding but i havent the slightest idea

they could be a pair or two females...

It never had the fishyballs to try and eat my hand though. Nipped my finger if thats all that was in the tank.

That is the structure they're being overly protective of and trying to move the top rock(white O)

I have (3) 7"ish O's that only recently started lip locking each other, they have been attacking my hand or the gravel vac for over a month now...I just thought that's what they do. These 3 are my first O's, so I'm far from being an expert.

Yeah these are my first O's

And yes they do swim together all the time. Very really apart actually

Ive had oscars and they all have acted like that from time to time. One wouldnt attack my hand but would try to destroy my gravel vac as hard as he could. The twitching is just them displaying aggression. Mine would rearrange the tank, then twitch at decorations they couldnt move out of anger. Sounds like oscars being oscars, but I would just check water conditions and possible stressors that may make them act more aggressive than usual

mine did that once, so I smacked him. so he broke the heater. so I took him to a LFS.

LOL love it
