just recently bought a 5inch hbrtg form lfs...should i wtt or just put in black background...cause some of my friend had a hbrtg and its been 1year++ still at 4th level shine...pls advice meh:help2:

IMO, The shine level all depends on the genetics and care. I mean you could go ahead and do WTT if you're just deadset on trying it. I just don't think its necessary.

I think he meant by White Tank Treatment? I might be wrong tho.
Its like keeping the Aro in a Totally white tank with lower water levels.
This is to bring out the shine in the fish but it washes away the colour till u put him back in a black tank after getting to the shine you want. That's as far as i know.

Anyways i'd say if you dont mind not seeing your aro from the side and enjoy him till he hits 1' or till he gets the shine u want, then you should.
Personally i wont coz i dont got the space to get another White FGT to do WTT and i cant bare to see him only from the top for so long. =)

I'm guessing WTT too, I honestly don't see the benefit from it other than the short time after you remove the WTT.

Like stated above it is all in the genetics, diet and husbandry mostly. Trick lighting or fooling the human eye is just a way to cover up.

I've had mine wtt for about 3 weeks now and notice no difference, if I didn't like the look of a white tank so much he would be in a black tank.image.jpeg image.jpeg
