No, I'm not starting a family. I want to start a red worm farm, so that I can save some money on fish food. Anybody have some detailed instructions for me?

Red worms? Are these earthworms you mean or blood worm larvae?

No, red wigglers. Update: I bought a bag of topsoil at Home Depot for 2.00, and I have some peat and moss. Any help with this project would be appreciated.

I started with the balck topsoil. I added on top of that the peat soil, then added moss and mixed it up. I dumped in 100 or so red worms. I'll be adding some cucumber to the pile for food. Any suggestions?

T-bags?

i use to compost red wigglers, its super easy but their very hard to harvest...

all u need is:

- a large bin with a lid, holes in the bottom with a screen to block the soil and worms from escaping.

-shreaded news paper, peat moss, tilled garden soil.

- red wigglers

Warning!!!!

do not use night crawlers/ dew worms in a compost!

Do not feed:

Dairy
acidic foods, i.e. oranges and lemons.
oils
fats
meat
cooked foods

Maintenance: till the soil once a week.. make sure its cool and dark. the soil should be slightly moist don't drown the bastards.

done..:headbang2
