Wyckii catfish care

There was one at my lfs, and I am considering getting it, I have done some research but I would like some info from people with first hand experience. Thanks in advance.

biggest thing is they are extremely aggressive. you can't keep them with anything. also they get pretty big.

They grow big (~2 ft +), they get there fast, they need a HUGE tank, they need HUGE filtration and they're the devil's own fish for temperament. You can't keep them with anything else. Anything you put with them if they can't eat it, they'll just kill it out of spite. This is why I favor their lesser used common name, the black devil catfish.

The only way to have one of these work with other fish is to have a miniature ocean like arapaimag does.

Sorry about that. IME they don't grow as fast as the champions like RTC, Leiarius, TSN. Rather about 2-3 times slower. Perhaps to 9"-12" in the first year.

I bought a trade-in at a LFS for $10, it was ~1' but that's lucky. Normally, I'd say ~$50 would be fair for 1'. Four 3"-ers I got at under $10 each. NE USA.
