So what are some of everyones x-mas traditons.

Ours are:
Everyone wears whacked out ugly christmas pajamas on xmas eve and day.

On xmas eve we eat the feast of seven fishes.

Both days we devour trays of strufoli.

This year we wanted to add something new since the kids are a little older now. We dropped off cookies and treats to our local police precinct and fire house

Cool in our family we get together, all the women argue, and then make me wear really ugly clothes, and the traditional foods are cheese and broccoli casserole and chocolate pie.
Also what is strufoli? Looks good!

Its fried dough balls drenched in a honey and orange sauce.... supposedly the recipe was handed down through my wifes fam. Her mother finally gave it up this year but left out something...lmaooo they both made them gotta admit the old lady's are better

Just have family get togethers. Play games and have dinner. Lot of fun. There about 40-50 people in our homes at this time nightly.

That's our tradition.

We're Asian, but it's tamales with salsa verde at Christmas for us.... Probably the 63+ years of California living has had an influence. We'll do the sushi stuff on New Year's....
That's not that unusual as asians have been in the western us for well over a hundred years and recent evidence suggest asians have been on the east coast well before Christopher Columbus "found" America.

Christmas starts at my mom's house where we gorge ourselves with turkey, have a rest and open presents. Then on to the in-laws where we proceed to stuff ourselves some more with a delicious hot pot and open more presents.

And to finish off the day, my sister and I spend a little QT by catching a movie.

The first dinner I ever cooked was chili... Family roots in Hawaii for 125+ years. Hawaii being the melting pot that it is, my parents grew up picking up customs of their friends and neighbors. I spent a year in Japan teaching English and discovered most of the Japanese words I knew were Hawaiian and not Japanese.
