I needed a place to house a rowdy fish That needed a time out for a few weeks, and didnt want to deal with having him in another system, so i came up with this idea after a 6 pack or three. The best part is it actually works and works well ...... and costs nothing to run !!!!
I moved my 55 gallon homemade W/D filter UNDER my 265 and installed a 75 gallon tank i bought from a LFS going out of business where the 55 used to be be. I re-arranged my overflow box so that it now drains into the 75 and use two standpipes to drain the water into my filter. It all works using gravity and required no more pumps or heaters. The whole job cost me less than $100 and i now have the added benefit of about 60 more gallons, and another place to put some fish.
If i only had more room
