Yes, while courting they were guarding and clearing sand from a cave. I thought that was where they would spawn, almost missed the eggs on the log off the floor of the tank.

Lots of sparring, the reason why I left the other bartoni in the tank, in order to help keep the fragile pair bond from disintegrating. It may be letting the others in for a beating, but sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes well....it eats you.

Very small tank, a 40gal tall, the bartoni are small, female is maybe 3", male maybe 4".

Congratulations on the spawn.

If you don't have a big enough tank for a haitiensis pair, go for Bartoni. I always had luck breeding Bartoni with multiple females and one male.
