The tank is 125 gallons and contains:

4 Amphilophus xiloaensis: 2 x 6" SL brute males and 2 x 4-4.5"..I believe one is a sub-dominant male and the other is female but don't know 100%
1 Albino oscar ~10.5" SL
1 Paratheraps zonatus ~5-5.5" SL (believe to be female but not 100%)

This first vid is one of the big bull males...this guy is solid orange, the other is white/orange creamsicle.

Love that O&W male! I'd love some xilos. I was hoping to find some O&W or R&W in my batch of F1 cits but they're all O so far.
Methinks Xilos would be better anyway. So if you ship and you can get some babies out of yours let me know! :D

Man those are awsome Jason.:headbang2 There is not a bad one in the bunch and they actually are pretty tolerant of each other.

so far so good....the squabbles in the videos are as bad as it's ever gotten but i'm keeping my eye on them. there is some inter-species territorial-tension, but they generally leave the zonatus and oscar alone...in fact none of them have ever bothered the oscar. The only fish that ever used to push the oscar around a little bit was the zonatus, but then again the zonatus used to run the whole tank, even when it was less than half the oscar's size.

now, though, that the 2 big male xilo's have passed the zonatus in size, the zon doesn't push anyone around...just kinda hangs out. Every once in a while it appears to be a little over-friendly with the creamsicle xilo which is why I lean towards the zonatus being female. I'll probably be taking her out of the tank before too long and adding a couple more rocks to make something more cave-like on each side.

Ideally I'd like for the creamsicle male to pair up with the one I suspect to be female. :D

Looks like the Orange one is the biggest one in the group now.
Have either males show interests in the little females yet?

no not yet, and actually the creamsickle has about 1/2" on the solid orange guy. :D

I did some rearranging last night. I removed the zonatus and one of the xilo's (the one I suspect to be a subdominant male) and kept the 2 males, the suspected female and the oscar in the 125. I also did some rearranging to the rocks to create a cave-like formation.

When I left for work today, the creamsickle and the suspected female were both checking out the new cave together so......*crosses fingers* :D

Nice I have a creamsicle one too-but I tell everyone its a Red Devil I mean they act and look almost exact.

i do have an update but without pics. after the rearranging i described before, the creamsickle male became very passive and did a lot of hiding and backing down to the orange male. the orange male's hump grew and the creamsickle's withered away.

the creamsickle was getting chased more than normal so I decided to rearrange again. this time, I moved the large orange male to the 55 gallon tank with another xilo, that I suspected was the sub-dominant male. however almost immediately after being put in the tank, the 2 started circling each other and did some chasing and flaring, but it was more 'mating' type aggression as opposed to territorial aggression. they've been digging a pit together.

in the 125, I now have the creamsickle male (who's hump grew back and he got his 'tude back) and he and the one I thought all along was female have really taken to the cave I created. the zonatus, melanarus and oscar are also in the 125. they generally stay away from the cave so there's very little aggression so far, but they do get chased away from the cave if they get too close.

maybe i'll have 2 breeding xilo pairs before long :D ***crosses fingers again*** :D
