i have a 3.5in pike in a 30 and was wanting to put him in my 90 gal with larger bichirs. the biggest being 12in. besides him i doubght any of the other 6 would try and eat him. do you think the pike would be quick and smart enought to grow up in the 90? im thinking of adding him.

i only feed frozen food and have kept smaller fish in there before (small bichirs, chalceus, spiny eels) without many problems. im def gonnna beef him up to at least 5-6in before i do anything. just wondering "what if?"

OK then by all means. That is if you get him to as close to 6" as possible, because as we all know, large Cichlids will swallow things even if their sticking more than half body length out of it's mouth!!!!!! I like Pikes to much to risk that stuff!!

xingu I, dammit taz you tempt me so.....

Why risk it? Just let the pike beef up to a larger size, then you will have less to worry about. You'd be surprised what those bichirs can do at night when the other fish are sleeping. If you are comfortable with the potential risk, then go with it. I wouldn't though personally.
