hi my xingu laid eggs today on the glass bottom a few on the wood. Most of them ended up swept down the tank as they didn’t stick and in big clusters. Any suggestions on what people would do? I currently have 3 other bass a datnoid and ray in the tank that’s an 8 by 3 by 28 inch high.

Congrats!

Is your aquarium large enough to divide? If so I personally would do that or let the parents protect them.

I don’t fancy dividing it TBH. There’s a few eggs they’re guarding that stuck to the wood. IDK if I should stick a rock in there and let them try and breed in there or set up another tank and take the rock out if they lay on it again.

Congratulations mate.
When my kelberi breed I leave the eggs in the tank with the parents for 3 days. After the 3 days I move the wood with the eggs on into another tank. I fill the new tank up with water from the parents tank this keeps them in the same water. They should hatch with in a day or two. Good luck

I have seen members on here use the bottoms of clay pots (the part that hold water), slate rock etc. When my broko laid eggs she used the slate rock which is flat over river rock that was her choice. Maybe give several options close together she may use them all

Congrats. Keep us posted
