I use an xp3 as one of my filters. I like the operation and ease of it, the water quality is excellent. Until I clean it. I follow all directions but when I start it back up alot of crap comes out of the spray bar into the tank. Any ideas on what I am missing or doing wrong?

yea, me too. its just the build up of stuff. and when u turn on the water the force pushes it out.
it is normal. its all the crap that builds up in the tubes.
when i start my xp3, i put the fish net in front of the output to catch all the crap so it doesnt go into the tank.

Pretty much normal startup. If your hoses are in really bad shape, the 'debris' might be a little more but it's generally momentary. 'shoefreak03's idea is a good one. I usually clean mine just prior to W/C & catch a good deal of the 'debris' that way. "T"
