I have 2 XP3s and an Emperor 400 on my 125. I clean my filters about one every two weeks. When I take my XP3s apart to clean them, their is some junk on the way top of all the media, but there is never really anything caught in the pads that are on the bottom of the filter.

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know how your media is set up, but I'll assume the corse media at the bottom with the finer media up top. I think this is what 's happening, with tthe frequent cleanings and mulitple filters, your tank has been left with very little particle debree. The debree that is there is fine so it is making it's way through the corse pads and collecting in the finer pads.

So I don't think ya have anything wrong. As long as your water is crystal clear and water params are in order, then ya know everything is going good.

I have my media set up basically the way that Rena tells you to, course pads on the bottom, then fine pads, then I have some of those little white porous rocks, then on top of everything, another fine pad. The fine pads towards the bottom don't even catch anything. It seems like most of the debree is not caught by anything, but just floating on top of everything when I open up my filter.

My water clarity is always pretty good, so maybe I have nothing to worry about. I just want to make sure that my XP3s are working right.
