xp4

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just hooked one up to my 150 brack tank. Too early to report on its performance. But, looking good so far. Definitely need a TALL stand to put it under. They would have done better to widen the overall dimensions instead of just stretching the FX3's dimensions.

agreed......keep us updated on the filter please!

wow what a dissappointment! First off this thing needs 26" of clearence under your tank:swear: second its just a hopped up xp3. I was hoping for some of the cool features like the fx4 or the pro III but with the quality and affordability of the xp filters. no neat technology just a bigger filter that most people can't house. damn it I love my xp3's but this thing isn't very impressive at all.

Save the $40.00 to $50.00 for the XP3 (depends if the XP3 price is $89.00 or $99.99).
From the look of the picture, rena just stretch out the XP3 to accomodate the extra basket.

I'd say skip it. I have an Xp3 which I think is a damn decent filter, but it really needs to have a bigger foot print instead of another basket for something that large. I can see those mech filters having one hell of a time trying to clean 450gph with that small of a foot print. I'm guessing it will clog up in no time.

Those bio-star deals leave alot to be desired too.

it looks like a cheap improvement to me. i don't see any difference. i would still go with my xp3. i agree on making it wider and not taller, it looks like a stretched filter with no improvement. although it claims improvement.. i'll keep my xp3 and get another xp3 and not xp4. i was hopping a new design or something unique to compete with the new fx5 and eheims... such a disapointment.:character0004:

the filter is a good deal, you can use the 4th tray for whatever you want and it has bigger water flow 450gph than xp3, the filter itself is 18 inches which is almost the same like fluval 405 which is 17 3/4 .
i hava a 28 inch cabinet and i will be getting it to upgrade my 10 years old 403 on my 403.
it seems to be better deal than fluval fx5. you can have two of them for one fluval
