I just picked up a P bass from an individual that was feeding him live rosies only.
Didn't really want him at the time however that mug of his grew on me.

Now that I have this little bundle of personality and energy, pellet trained.
What can I anticipate as a normal growth rate? He's 3-4 " now, can I expect him to double in size in 3 months? more? less?

He's in a 180 currently with other large cichlids, Sevs, Bocourti and the ever pesky convict feeders that will not go away.along with some red hooks.

Any idea on how long it will take him to break the foot mark?
Thank you

BTW : his current diet is Hikari sinking carnivore, HBH soft krill pellets with an occasional fd cricket , and tipilia chunk

Well assuming he is being fed 2 times a day, and everything is fine in 3months you can expect atleast 2-3in of growth minimum. With 3-4in on the higher side. 1foot+ usually takes anyware from 8months-a year sometimes even more and sometimes even less. The growth really has multiple factors that come into play as he grows. In example: what he is being fed, how often and the amount he is being fed, the amount of water changes going on, water quality, other fish, size of the tank he is housed in, species and even temprature as it can alter the fishes metabolism. In conclusion you can expect 2-3in from most cichla sp. and 1ft+ will depend but usually 8-12months (from birth) if everything is in check.

Best of luck.
