...my 8-10" aro is in a 55 with a bunch of small sa cihclids? I just put him in there. It's only temporary until the 450g is up and running this weekend.

It's somewhat over crowded now, but I needed his 80g growout drained and cleaned so it can become the sump for the 450g.

He'll be in there for four days max, I just don't want to piss him off as he's one of my favorites and is doing so well health wise.

I would feed your fish well clean the tank and then completely black out the tank until you move him to the 450. Leave the lights off and drape a blanket over it to keep the room light out. This should keep your fish way less active, avoiding aggressive attacks on your aro. Just peek in a few times a day to make sure all is well. A divider is a pretty safe bet too. Just make sure your aro has no sharp decorations to injure itself on if he gets startled in this cramped space.

I cleaned it yesterday before putting them in. I just checked on them this morning, and everyone seems to be ok, however, they all seem to be giving me the evil eye. Almost to say, how dare you put us in this little tank. It's in the garage, with no windows. The weather has been in the mid 60's at night and mid 80's during the day so I put a heater in just in case it gets too cold at night. There's two marineland emperor 400's on the tank so theres a ton of water movement. I turned off the light timer on the tank and the garage stays dark for the most part. However, I still have a towel over the tank as I don't want the aro to get through any of the holes in the tops from where the hob's are hanging.

The sa cichlids are blue acara's, a blood parrot, a 4" pbass, a pleco. Basically his inhabitants from the 80g, just moved to a 55g. They're all pretty docile and small. No fin nipping or anything.

Only a few more days.

If they were in the 80g and it worked, then there is no reason why it won't work in the 55g.

When I got home from work tonight everyone was still ok. Everyone was a little skittish yesterday, but they all seem fairly calm now. I can't wait for this tank to be done!

should work out. btw post some pics of the 450 when its done!! lol

I will, there's a thread in the setup&filtration forum with a few photos, but not much has happened since last week. Well, nothing worth taking photos of anyway.
