I had a murder mystery a coupple of months ago.
I put a Moonbeam Goramie into my large placid tank and a little while after that a blue yabbie, just a small one. I learnt quickly that the FS was full of BS when they said the yabbie would only catch oe or two stranglers, every night he had his feed, an angel, a goldfish, a barb only the zebras were safe I quickly got rid of him...
...but the killig continued. I coulden't figure it out, I researched every species to see who could be the culprit. Finally despite many pro sites saying the Moonbeam was placid and friendly I found one site where a woman commented on her moonbeam getting teritorial and taking out fish. Aha, once I removed him peace was restored, he is now in my semi agressive tank and gets along fine with his new tank mates who are just as fast as him more agile and will peck back if he give any nonsense.
I have another story about a fighting fish but that's no mystery, my poor pictus catfish jumped right out of the tank because of the new guest. I have since replaced the pictus and the fighting fish got fed to one of my Oscars. Shariah law in fish town.
OK peace out guys and be careful when adding new fish, they are not always what they seem or what others tell you they are.
