Feeder Fish
I managed to pick up another 4 Y. splendida a week ago, 2 came from Pier Aquatics and two came from a good friend, there was some initial aggro in the tank but all 15 seem to have settled down now

Just after adding the new fish I noticed something move on the bottom of the tank:

Unfortunately it proved to be unfertile but hopefully some more will have been fertile :D

From what I have read, these guys are a lot like Skunk Loaches when it comes to attitudes? So it is not a good idea to keep them with tetra and botia histrionica?

They are incredible looking, I have seen some on AquaBid but never in person.

These make skunks look like angels, I had some peral danios in with these as dither fish unfrotunately they couldnt dither after the splendida removed their tails.

These will probably get to around 4"

Stunning fish but very bad tempered.

nice looking loaches Mark! splendida are a rare species here in the states, ive seen them on aquabid for $50 + shipping. Good luck with breeding them, have you had any other species of loaches breed for you?

Thank you, I will keep you updated as and when I get more eggs/fry

The splendida are my 15th species of loach spawned, even with their own tanks majority of the spawnings are still considered accidental as we still dont know the triggers etc but I will keep working on new species and hopefully learn more and more
