:) Sorry but I don't have pics of it yet - I got a baby albino senegal from my local petsmart. The chick told me they'd just discontinued them from the store, and it was the very last one. Its SO tiny compared to the first two I have - maybe only two inches, if that. I took pix (with my cell phone) so I could look back in later months and remember how itty bitty it used to be.

Do their care requirements differ from the regular senegal at all? If so, plz let me know b/c I have all intentions of treating it like a normal senegal unless I hear otherwise.

<<< lookie! My rank is a senegal bichir now!

Congrats on the new Pick up... Cant wait to see pics..

Should be the same as the other Bichirs.. just watch out till he/she gets some size..

Consider it as you would a normal senegal-Anne

BTW weekly pics are good to have to document its growth.I just started doing it with the new gang

**ANOTHER NEW ONE**

I'm becoming addicted to bichirs...

Proud new owner of an Ornate!!!!!!! YAY! S/He's about 6 to 7 inches long - nice coloring, very healthy. I paid $40.00 for him @ the Fish Gallery in DFW.

The three I know of by me have quit carrying them also-Anne

Yep. They still have 90 million little inch and a half long regular senegals but they said they won't be carrying the albinos anymore.

Anne - once I get pics up, what are the odds you'll be able to tell me if my four are male or female?? I'm kind of curious. I'd like to name them, esp. the new ornate, but... I'm running out of cool names that will work for both boys and girls hheheehe

It'll depend on the size of the fish and the clarity(good luck) of the picture-Anne
I name mine after something they do or have done.My female ornate is named digger from her habit whenI first got her she would push all the sand to one side of the tank.I'd push it back and the cycle would repeat.Pickles my male lap was named pickles well he kinda looked like a picle when i got him.-Anne
