He's going into my 29 until Sunday, then he gets moved to the 125. I've been wanting one of these and they finally had some at my LFS for $15. He's a slippery little sucker. He already made one escape attempt at the LFS when he was getting moved from the net to the bag.

Real nice looking rope, we have them at our LFS all the time, its crazy how different areas have a fish and others don't. I have seen tons of pics of fish on MFK that I would love to have and our LFS have none, its nice to see our LFS actually has a fish that is hard to come by in another area.

Very Cool Rope Fish! When I was about 10 years old, my father had a rope fish. Lived for about 8 years and got about 15 inches long. Good Luck with him and Rock-On!!:woot:  :clap :headbang2

He's about 10-11" already. Hehehe, I'm all excited.

It is weird, but kinda cool that different regions have different stuff that's always for sale. If only sajicas were on the list of "always available" around here because I want a male! :swear:

MrRngr, yeah, had to take a break for a bit and go enjoy all the lovely weather. ;)

I like them, cute fish. Just a long skinny bichir really :)

Mine is not quite as active as some bichirs, but does cruise around occasionally. Eats a lot too, and cuddles with my clarias all the time.

I would buy those palmas. You can grow them out in a 10 gallon tank. Forgot to ask, what kind of tankmates are you going to house your rope with? If you're keeping it with an ornate make sure it won't fit in the ornate's mouth. I think someone here had their rope eaten by an ornate.

Huh, I have a 20 gallon long sitting around. Maybe I will buy a few palmas. They were only like $6.

My ornate is like 7-ish inches long ATM, by no means a monster yet. I think they'll be fine, and if not, then you live and learn, right? He can't stay in the 29 for long. LOL

The other tankmates in the 125 are a geopahgus, a couple sevs, my jaxas, and a small firemouth (not too small), as well as some giant danios. I only added the danios to draw out some of my more shy fish, and so far it's worked without a casualty.
