sadly my first fire eel named tar died last month of ich we treated her on her own but we were just too late i also had 5 clown loaches die, luckily it didnt spread to the 100 gal with my dads prize loaches.

Soo... i started looking everywhere for another one everywhere i look they are over priced and/or beat up but we visited a shop that had a bad rep(but theyre trying harder) and on the oscar tank was a label saying fire eel £11.50 so i ask them to move the filter and wow the markings, red outline and general condition was... WOW.

so i take him home and let him in, i was wary about him cos my last eel (tar) was always on the hunt for food and straight up top for food as soon as i got up and she was hand feeding on the second day she was there so i had major doubts about how active he is going to be.

But to my amasement he is very active and at 6" he is very noticable still he isnt as active as tar but better than i thought. so he is now living in a 65 UK gal with a 4" oscar and a syno eupterus and this time i didnt introduce the fire eel first then other fishes so YAY, now only i if i could figure out where my cameras USB cable is!!!:headbang2

Thanks!!! you should get one i would compare their personalities with that of oscars... seriously!!!:D

also thinking how much he was there is a huge lfs that is basically labeled "house of disease"(it was originally called pisces) they were selling foot long ones at £75 i told him how over hyped and disease riddled fish tanks ruined his shop so i was banned lol :D POWER TO THE PEOPLE... or fish

Yay! and I deffinately agree with you my fires have as much personality as my O! Just be watchful.. my O has decided to own the tank now at about 10" and attacks my 3 fire eels housed with him. even though they are all getting close/pushing the 24" mark. and have PVC and driftwood to hide in. One more Mark and gets getting tossed in a tupperware bin until his 55 cycles.

the flamin oscar is in a 10 gal currently (the devil jumped out and developed ich) i moved him as soon as i saw a spec on the top of the fin as you know what happened last time with the ICH, i seriously am getting nowhere when it comes to owning awesome fish:wall: first they jump out then they develop ich and etc. but temperature has been raised so lets hope me, Mr. O and Tar II get through this, other wise i am gonna sell my tank and focus on my rats.

sorry LovesSeverums still cant find the cable.

WOW, i just realised... i have no friends... Note to self: i HATE my countrys social skills, and not having friends just means more time for my pets!!!
