I've had to keep my three ATF's separated for over a year now. Every few months I would let the barrier drop and see if anything happened. It would be fine for a few hours then I would notice one would have scales missing or a big slash down the side. Once I even saw a whirlwind of fighting with two of them going at it. So up went the barrier again.
This week I let the barrier down again and it's going on 5 days now and no slashes maybe just a few missing scales.
They actually school together and swim together peacefully now. I would say they're at about the 7.5 to 8" mark. Hopefully this will be the last time
One thing that has changed though is the eating habits. The biggest one has somehow gone on a hunger strike. He used to be the most aggressive feeder charging at food whenever it hits the water. He hasn't eaten since the barrier went down.
The other one has eaten a few times but still a little timid.
