Last week, came home to a tank full of dead fish. So pissed to lose the intermedia. Survivors were a mota and a bichir. Lost 3 intermedia, 2 orinos, female red terror and 3 tinfoils. I almost bought some orinos yesterday, but I think I might hold out for a while. Don't know if I'm ready to try again yet. Maybe if I find more intermedia or fogo (shop got a few in a while ago and they kept one in their display tank). Moved everything around and got a fahaka. Used to have one in that tank, but it died a couple years ago. No idea what happened, they were fine the night before, just came home after work to a tank full of dead fish. I had them in a tank right by my couch, so I was constantly checking on them. They must have killed the one orino after I went to bed and soured the tank. Did not check on it in the morning as it's in the basement. I need to get into a habit of doing that every moring.

I am so sorry that this happened. Nothing else is quite so demotivational to fishkeeping.

Agreed on things sometimes just happening, some recent experience of mine is also a powerful reminder of that. Glad to see the new pike is helping you pick up the pieces.

Thanks. I had them for a year, I think.
