Fun fact: Was the only parrot that 'greeted' me at purchase.

TANGO the Blood Parrot ("Goofy")

Comments: Tango is like the kid who won't sit with Santa Claus. For such a large parrot he's edgy, nervous and jumpy. I'm hoping being in a larger tank will calm him some. Any sudden motion will send him banging off the walls. The complete opposite of Boss, EVERYTHING bothers him.

Surprising Fact: Discovered Bobo is female despite her masculine appreance. She laid eggs this past August.

Rivals: Previously BP Boss, and Brick the Oscar. Now has her own tank due to constant stress related illnesses.

Comments: She's shown more of her true personality away from a stressful environment. Much more interactive. an extremely calm fish. Gets testy with eggs.
BRICK the Oscar (The "Hammer")

Personality: Playful alpha. A bully, sweetheart, protector or terminator. Moody. Brick will investigate EVERYTHING that happens in the tank. Throws tantrums on occassion. He's a 'touch' fish, likes pats and tickles (but only on his terms). Tries squeezing in places his fat ass won't fit. Will ram or plow through anything that blocks his way. Has two kills on his resume.
Intelligence/awareness: 10/10

Aggression Level: Depends on mood. 6/10 when mellow, 9/10 when pissed.
Known For: Chaos and wrecking stuff. Cracks rocks against the glass and piles them up. Pulls heaters loose, knocks intakes off of filters, pulls out filter pads, pushes powerheads out of the corners. Also clears space when decorating. Re arranges large sections of the tank and digs pits. Breaks up fights. Brick is quite powerful and has no problem moving boulders. Very stubborn and wants the tank a certain way. Currently he claims 4ft of the 6ft tank and refuses to budge. Some fish are allowed in his space, others not. If not annoyed or bored Brick is rather peaceful.

Color: Various red morphs. Black/copper/spotted as a baby, then Fire Red, then Lava Red with black head, black speckles and white scales with speckles. White scales are disappearing now and his head is solid black.
Fun Fact: Plays with his toy basketball all day. He can spit it out of the tank across the room!
Surprising Fact: Will not eat or harass small tankmates. Ignores petty tank squabbles but clears everyone out when annoyed. The magic number is 6. Any fish smaller than that are safe!

Speed: 7/10 In short bursts Brick is amazingly fast but he needs room to stop. He only does this as a 'warning' chase and breaks it off after two feet. Rarely will he chase across the tank.
Comments: Brick is something else and always entertaining.

Comments on both Calico HRPs: Very active and have high 'flight' response. However they are very territorial and hyper aggressive eaters. Both are more 'long' than my HRP Pip, which is why I suspect Pip may be female. Will be interesting to see if they change in a larger tank.

Comments: Intelligent and crafty. Knows how/when to be aggressive and when to back off. Corn picks his fights carefully. This fish is hopeless around the camera. The minute I start taking pics he gets in the way and stares, blocking shots. The mad photobomber. He's one of the first fish up front and forward to greet.

Fun fact: Runs from as many fights as he starts. Not well liked by other tankmates.
Color: Blue metallic 'frosty' foil scales, broad orange piping on top fin.
Surprising Fact: Has ongoing turf wars with the rainbows.

Runs from: Brick the Oscar, Boss the BP. He'll hassle the parrot if Boss roams on his turf. In a direct fight the parrot whoops his butt, so he avoids getting too close. More of an ambush fighter, Rocky even attempted a couple of cheap shots on the Oscar (when Brick was turned around). He was nearly caught and bitten so since then he avoids the Oscar and gives a wide berth. Someone got his tail recently though. Rocky's been pretty quiet since.

Comments: Tango is like the kid who won't sit with Santa Claus. For such a large parrot he's edgy, nervous and jumpy. I'm hoping being in a larger tank will calm him some. Any sudden motion will send him banging off the walls. The complete opposite of Boss, EVERYTHING bothers him.

BOBO the Chocolate Cichlid ("Potato")

Surprising Fact: Discovered Bobo is female despite her masculine appreance. She laid eggs this past August.

Comments: She's shown more of her true personality away from a stressful environment. Much more interactive. an extremely calm fish. Gets testy with eggs.
BRICK the Oscar (The "Hammer")
Purchase Length: 2 inches
Current Length: 14+ inches, 3 1/2 inches wide at the head
Personality: Playful alpha. A bully, sweetheart, protector or terminator. Moody. Brick will investigate EVERYTHING that happens in the tank. Throws tantrums on occassion. He's a 'touch' fish, likes pats and tickles (but only on his terms). Tries squeezing in places his fat ass won't fit. Will ram or plow through anything that blocks his way. Has two kills on his resume.

Aggression Level: Depends on mood. 6/10 when mellow, 9/10 when pissed.
Known For: Chaos and wrecking stuff. Cracks rocks against the glass and piles them up. Pulls heaters loose, knocks intakes off of filters, pulls out filter pads, pushes powerheads out of the corners. Also clears space when decorating. Re arranges large sections of the tank and digs pits. Breaks up fights. Brick is quite powerful and has no problem moving boulders. Very stubborn and wants the tank a certain way. Currently he claims 4ft of the 6ft tank and refuses to budge. Some fish are allowed in his space, others not. If not annoyed or bored Brick is rather peaceful.

Features: Tall bodied with a maw of a mouth.
Color: Various red morphs. Black/copper/spotted as a baby, then Fire Red, then Lava Red with black head, black speckles and white scales with speckles. White scales are disappearing now and his head is solid black.
Fun Fact: Plays with his toy basketball all day. He can spit it out of the tank across the room!
Surprising Fact: Will not eat or harass small tankmates. Ignores petty tank squabbles but clears everyone out when annoyed. The magic number is 6. Any fish smaller than that are safe!

Runs from: LOL
Speed: 7/10 In short bursts Brick is amazingly fast but he needs room to stop. He only does this as a 'warning' chase and breaks it off after two feet. Rarely will he chase across the tank.
Comments: Brick is something else and always entertaining.
Mongo the Calico HRP

Comments on both Calico HRPs: Very active and have high 'flight' response. However they are very territorial and hyper aggressive eaters. Both are more 'long' than my HRP Pip, which is why I suspect Pip may be female. Will be interesting to see if they change in a larger tank.
CORN the Gold Severum

Features: Looks like a gold discus. Full bodied with a big beak and thick lips.

Fun fact: Makes a gunshot "pop" when eating
Color: Bright golden yellow or peach color with red face whorls and fin rays. White chin.
Surprising Fact: Resistant to stress and very resilient, even when hassled and chased. In turn he'll chase other fish in retaliation. Corn's all over the place but very entertaining.
Rivals: The acaras Rocky and Jazz, Boss the BP.
Runs from: Boss the BP, Brick the Oscar. Runs from Rocky on the acara's turf but attacks when roles are reversed.
Speed: 7/10 Corn swims fastest when chased by the Oscar.
Comments: Intelligent and crafty. Knows how/when to be aggressive and when to back off. Corn picks his fights carefully. This fish is hopeless around the camera. The minute I start taking pics he gets in the way and stares, blocking shots. The mad photobomber. He's one of the first fish up front and forward to greet.
ROCKY the Blue Acara

Known For: Picking unecessary fights, puffing and flaring. He cruises the tank looking for trouble.

Features: A bulky male, Rocky has large finnage and is thick/squarish bodied.
Favorite foods: various pellets, blackworms, dried insects.
Fun fact: Runs from as many fights as he starts. Not well liked by other tankmates.
Color: Blue metallic 'frosty' foil scales, broad orange piping on top fin.
Surprising Fact: Has ongoing turf wars with the rainbows.
Rivals: The rainbows Salt and Pepper.
Runs from: Brick the Oscar, Boss the BP. He'll hassle the parrot if Boss roams on his turf. In a direct fight the parrot whoops his butt, so he avoids getting too close. More of an ambush fighter, Rocky even attempted a couple of cheap shots on the Oscar (when Brick was turned around). He was nearly caught and bitten so since then he avoids the Oscar and gives a wide berth. Someone got his tail recently though. Rocky's been pretty quiet since.

Comments: Despite his annoying behavior Rocky will win you over with his playfulness, high attention span and energy.
JAZZ the Blue Acara

Personality: Territorial, independent and friendly. More reserved than Rocky.

Aggression Level: 7/10 her aggression varies from average to high. Much better tankmate than Rocky.
Known For: Squabbling with or running from Rocky...they're a lousy convenience couple. At times they nest together and shake plants.
Tank Occupation: Tag along
Features: Jazz is more rounded then Rocky with smaller finnage. Thick bullet shape.
Favorite foods: various pellets, blackworms, dried insects..
Fun fact: Rocky bullies/chases her a little but when her tube drops she's pure hell and runs him in circles.
Color: Darker blue metallic foil scales with thinner orange piping on top fin.
Surprising Fact: Unlike Rocky, Jazz can shoal a bit with other fish.

Comments: Like Rocky, Jazz has great attention span and energy. She's more 'evened out' in aggression where Rocky can get out of control at times. Will stand her ground when Rocky flares nose to nose.
