I recently setup a planted tank and just noticed some yellow hair like algae built up on the fake root decoration that I have in the tank. I have some Nerite snails in there that I am hoping will help with the issue. I also just added a flame gourami and a blue paradise gourami. Obviously I screwed up something along the way to get the algae in the first place. The tank is a 4' long 48 gallon with a 4' long Current light with 2 65 watt bulbs and a moonlight led. Any pointers to remedy the issue or avoid it in the future would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking to pickup some otocats but I can't find them anywhere locally. I drove to 4 different stores today looking for them and SAEs were all I could find but I don't want those. Anyway thanks for any help.

What kinda bulbs? the watts don't really mean anything, its all about that PAR.
But I can estimate your lighting level based on if your light is a T8, T5NO, T5HO, ect.

Some algae is always normal, and tends to go away over time anyways

The bulbs are 2 65 watt SmartPaq 10,000k Daylight/460nm Actinic compact flourescent bulbs. I was finally able to find some otos and I added some ghost shrimp. When combined with the nerite snails they were doing a good job on the algae but unfortunately the ghost shrimp have been getting eaten by some of the fish so the algae is starting to return.
