Hey MFK!
another turtle question!
What size tank should i house a 1 inch yellow belly turtle in, and what should the water depth be?
Also what is the growth rate like for a yellow belly?:)
Thxs!

You can keep them in fairly deep water, I keep mine in 24 inches of water, your fine as long as the have a basking platform or two. A 30 gal will suit them fine at that size, but because of their growth rate its better to start out with an tank suitable to house them as an adult, 60 or more. They grow fairly quick, my hatchlings from last summer are now between 4-5 inches

Ya, a 29 would be could for that turtle for about a year. But, obviously, if you can start with a bigger tank, then do. They are very good swimmers and like deep water, so give them as much as you can.
