Whats up yall...

Ive got a pleco and it has developed some weird looking yellow bumps. I had two angelfish that passed along ick. It killed off my two gouramis and 4 of my neon tetras.

Just the other day, I noticed that my pleco started with just a few yellow bumps, so I thought its prolly ick on that bad boy too, but isnt ick WHITE spots or does it vary on the type of fish..

As of right now, im using the heat/salt treatment, the temp is 86-87 F and salt has been added. Its been going on for four days now. My tetras are clearing up and starting to eat again. My pleco however just came out of hiding for four days and scurrying around the tank, but the spots have multiplied. Started with 4 at the most, now close to 30-40ish, all of varying sizes.

If someone can ID this for me, or if pictures are needed, I can trying to take a decent one.

pretty much just gross looking...

THANKS YALL

Post the pics of those bumps and water parameters. What species is this pleco?

I'll move this temporarily to Plecos forum for more queries.

yellow spots = velvet stronger version of ick..Make sure to do a water change once every 2-3 days and remove your carbon when treating ick. Copper safe is the best to treat ick but must be handle carefully or else your fish will be dead too

Ouch i hope your pleco pulls through..
Could someone tell me why his pleco would catch Velvet instead of Ick then?

Hey guys, my Pleco is showing signs of an illness I’m not sure of. i’ve had him/her for a little over a year now, they are in a 10gallon tank by them selves as my betta fish died after I allowed a friend to care for them for me whilst I was at University.

After a few months I’ve started to see these lumps on my fish, I’ve checked the water quality and everything is normal, I did a water change the second I noticed it, but I don’t know what it is so i have no idea how to treat it.

He has 4 lumps altogether I want treat them before he gets more and gets worse, the largest is on his nose, he has two on one side and one on the other.

Please help.
