Ok I have some yellowish growth starting in my tank on some of the objects. It seems to be most prolific on one of my bubblers which is decorative and also on my filter intake (Penguin Bio-Wheel). Anyways this yellow stuff is starting to grow and I noticed that one of my snails has quite enjoyed the area on my bubbler that has the growth for about a week, so I assume and algae or algae like organism. Anyways does anyone know what? Why? and How to get rid of it? Seems to me its easy to brush off with algae scrubber but that seems like a band aid solution to me any better ideas?

No pics to cheap to buy a digital camera. It is like green algae growth in the kind of spotted fuzz look you get on ornaments sometimes. But yellow the water definitley smells a bit and like I say a little elbow grease and it comes off. The bubblers is a white temple looking thing and it shows up yellow on that just like a plain yellow.

is your tank in direct sun light?

No sunlight to it. In fact truth is I probably under light the tank cause no plants and I didn't want algae. lights on about 7 hours a day and for about 5 days a week. I feed everyone pretty tight up to the last little while 3 goldfish only and 5 pellets of food a day. Two snails to clean it. 20% water changes once every 5-7 days 40 Gallons and Water parms are the same spot the normally at. Any chance that it is from lack of lighting? I added three hillstream loaches recently (I know already got told I'm an idiot in another thread) but problem started to manifest about a week prior to their arrival have been monitoring but seems little worse last couple of days.

might have to much light in your tank. just take out all the decore with the white stuff on and wash it.
