Hi all im converting my tank so that i only have yellow labs in there,
I have 2adults that have bred (before i got them), and 11 smaller labs 1cm to 4cm,
ideally im wanting this tank to breed more and more and more, so basicly its totally full of yellow labs,

now my question is how do i get them too breed and when they do breed is what must i do?

do i take the babies out leave them in ? what?

this is a picture of my tank right now, it is a 4foot tank.
thanks

breeding labs is the easiest thing in the world.

they will do it all the time but you should get some more females or else the male will harass her too much.

5 to 1 is a good ratio.

I have been breeding Chichlids for 3 years (officially now) and I dont know how not to make them breed its almost impossible to get 2 yellows that wont breed.

when they breed, do i need to remove any of the fry or parents? or will they just get on with it all in the tank?

sorry for basic questions but better to be safe than sorry and loose them

thanks

you can try trial and error....but if you really want to save them get the fry out of the tank when they start to swim on their own, should be after the jumping bean stage...or you can leave them in with parents and they will grow faster but make sure you take them out before they are ready to spawn again.

try to condition them and feed them a variety of good stuff....i'd say pump them up :)

u should take the fry out because if u keep them in, your fry will start breeding wit each other, then you'll have a bunch of hill billys... lol

I always just let them stay with the parents. They are good parents and the babies raise themselves. Just relax let it happen and enjoy!
