Yellow Lab bruise?

I was just doing a waterchange on my african tank and I noticed a red blotchy bruise looking thing on his head. I tried to take a picture I figured it would be easier during the change so the waters pretty low. But I just want to make sure this isn't something more serious.

I'll see if I can get a better picture later, but they really hate my camera.

is it a wound? missing scales where it is?

Its not missing scales it just looks like it got hit hard or possibly ran into something... But I'm not an expert so I just want to make sure its noting too bad...

I tried to take another picture but its hiding and wont come out of the rock work... But its pretty much a redish coloration on top of its head area...
