well, I have time, I tested the water and it's nowhere near ready for fish. there's ammonia, the ph is around 7.4, and the gh and kh is high.

what is 1m and 3f and IMHO?

In My Humble Opinion, and 1 male, 3 females. Yellow labs are omnivores. They need protein and veggies in their diet.

Yes a 46 gal is large enough for 1M 3+F. I currently have 10 adults in my 125, another 29 juvies, and soon to be 80+ small small juvies. They get to about 5".

and are there any plecos (or any algae eater) that will go well with them? Rubbernose would be too small, the yellow lad would eat it in a heartbeat.

my yellows are docile and wouldnt touch a rubbernose... i think you should get a synodontis multipunctatus "cuckoo synodontis"

they look pretty cool. have some good rockwork in the tank and the cichlids and catfish should do ok.

since when do you have yellows?

I think they will do fine in your tank.
1m and 3 females.

I like the smaller pleco's like Albino Bristlenose. They are good cleaning fish.
